Who we are

Coca-Cola Amatil New Zealand (CCANZ) is a Kiwi based business and beverage bottler that employs 1000+ people from Whangarei to Invercargill.

Part of the ASX-listed Coca-Cola Amatil Group, we are one of the largest bottlers of non-alcoholic ready-to-drink beverages in the Asia-Pacific region and one of the world's top five Coca-Cola bottlers.

The CCANZ team is guided by three core values that are integral to the Company's operations, culture, sustainability and corporate responsibility initiatives within New Zealand:

    • Stand Together
    • Take the Lead
    • Keep it Real

What we do

CCANZ bottles, sells and distributes over 100 beverage brands.

As well as bottling Coca-Cola New Zealand licensed products, we have an ever-expanding portfolio of carbonated soft drinks including low and no calorie options, water, sports and energy drinks, juices, fruit products, coffee and premium beers. Our own brands include L&P, Pump, Baker Halls and Grinders Coffee plus others.

Where we do it

- Five production facilities (Auckland, Putaruru, Christchurch) with 13 bottling lines
- Three warehouses (Auckland, Palmerston North, Christchurch)
- 22,800 retailers nationwide (our customers)

Our Auckland and Christchurch production facilities have recently undergone a major upgrade to include blow-fill technology, allowing CCANZ to design and self-manufacture its own PET plastic beverage bottles using fewer raw materials and producing a lighter weight bottle. Through this we have reduced the amount of virgin PET plastic resin used by approximately 13%, that’s 650 tonnes less PET used each year, or the combined weight of more than 150 African Elephants!

Sustainability & Recycling

We see our packaging as a resource not a waste stream, that’s why all of our bottles, cans and packaging are accepted by NZ recycling facilities.

97% of New Zealanders have access to kerbside recycling or drop off centres (data sourced 2007), however just 18% of waste material collected out-and-about is recycled. Through our ongoing partnership with Love NZ we aim to inspire and encourage people to recycle more when they’re away from home.

    • To date 2,500 recycling bins have been installed in 26 regions across New Zealand
    • In 2011 we helped fund a $1M+ awareness and education campaign delivering the message ‘What Recycling Goes in When You’re Out’
    • In 2012 we launched ‘It’s a Karma Thing’, an incentivised social media campaign encouraging recycling using Love NZ bins

We are constantly finding innovative ways to reduce the amount of materials used in our packaging.

    • Light-weighting PET bottles by 10-15%
    • Using less secondary packaging with a change to shrink wrapped trays for some of our products
    • Our new blowfill labels are lighter. We have eliminated the need for plastic liner inside the caps and reduced cap sizes
